Life According to Agfa

Written and directed by Assaf Dayan (son of military hero Moshe Dayan), LIFE ACCORDING TO AGFA was 1993's most talked-about and award-winning Israeli movie. AGFA spans 12 hours, "a year from now" at a Tel Aviv bar owned by two attractive and independent women. The all-night watering hole attracts friends, lovers, bohemians, businessmen, criminals, cops, and all who wish to stave off the loneliness of the night. People eat, drink and carouse, and poets recite their latest verse while the piano player provokes the beer drinking soldiers with his left-wing songs. With the haunting music of Leonard Cohen, AGFA paints a startling portrait of a country on the edge.
