Lifetime Guarantee: Phranc's Adventures in Plastic

Androgynous punk-rocker-turned -folksinger Phranc defines herself as “the all-American Jewish lesbian surfin’ Tupperware lady.” It’s no mere gimmick: when she decides to settle down to a family-oriented lifestyle with her partner and daughter after 20 years of international touring, Phranc finds herself fascinated by the prospect of selling Tupperware. The very name of the legendary manufacturer of kitchen aids evokes giggles of recognition throughout suburbia. But it’s all very serious business to Phranc, who aspires to move a quarter of a million dollars worth of the stuff, putting her own special spin of personal empowerment on the marketing campaign.
Lisa Udelson conceived of, shot, and edited Lifetime Guarantee: Phranc's Adventures In Plastic. She is the writer and director of the award-winning short film, The Party Favor, which has screened in over 100 domestic and international film festivals, including Sundance. Her 1989 short narrative, Tire Mountain, was also a festival prize winner. Lisa has worked primarily as a producer and editor of motion picture trailers for both independent and studio films. She has also edited Oscar-nominated short films, feature narratives and documentaries. Lisa has directed segments for television, including an episode for the Showtime series, Women, written by and starring Mary Woronov, as well as segments for the documentary series The Men's Room for Lifetime. Lisa's next project, Book Club, is an improvisational feature in conjunction with a women's comedy ensemble. She is also completing Key Chain, her third feature screenplay.
