Health & Safety

COVID Policy

The Jewish Film Institute is committed to ensuring in-person experiences are as safe as possible for our patrons. We continue to monitor city public health guidelines and recommendations regarding COVID-19.

For those attending in person, read on for our masking and vaccination policies. The Opening Night Party will have outdoor space available. For those who are planning to stream films at home SFJFF42 offers more than a dozen programs online, available August 1–7, 2022.

MASKS

Masks must be worn inside all SFJFF42 venues when not eating or drinking. When at a screening, masks may only be removed when actively eating or drinking once seated. Masks must be worn in theater lobbies and restrooms.

Masks may be removed by filmmakers and presenters during introductions and Q&As.

VACCINATIONS

We require proof of "up-to-date" vaccination and a photo ID upon entry. Photo ID is not required for children under the age of 12.

For patrons 18 and over "up-to-date" means you are 2 weeks out from your initial series of vaccinations (2nd dose of Pfizer/Moderna, 1st dose of Johnson & Johnson) AND if eligible, have received a booster (5 months after completing the initial doses of Pfizer/Moderna or 2 months are receiving the Johnson & Johnson dose).

For patrons 12–17 "up-to-date" means you are 2 weeks out from your initial series of Pfizer vaccinations AND if eligible, have received a third doze of Pfizer 5 months after completing the initial series of vaccines.

For patrons 5–11 "up-to-date" means completing both initial dosages of the Pfizer vaccine.

Patrons under 5 are not required to show proof of vaccinations but must still wear a mask.

How can I show proof of my vaccination?

Physical vaccination cards, photos of vaccination cards, or digital vaccine cards are acceptable forms of vaccination proof.

Pass holders with non-transferable Festival Passes are only required to show proof of vaccination upon picking up their passes at the Festival Box Office at their first attended screening. Ticket holders are required to show proof of vaccination upon entry to each screening.

You can register for a digital copy of your vaccination record here:
