In her latest short film, Lisa Edelstein portrays the hysterical sexual (mis)adventures of post-divorce dating. Set in Brooklyn, Edelstein plays Syd, an unlucky real estate agent and empty nester looking for love. Syd’s hilarious and surprising escapades, including a date with Richard Schiff (The Good Doctor), are not to be missed.
The Two Lives of Rube Goldberg
In The Two Lives of Rube Goldberg, director Geoffrey George (Goldberg’s youngest grandchild,) explores Rube’s life, as well as the influence of his legacy, which continues to inspire new generations of creative thinkers, today.

The U.S. Supreme Court decision Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization in June 2022 sparked a national response, particularly in the Jewish community. Inspired by the lived experiences of Jewish women, lawsuits are currently being launched by rabbis, Jewish organizations and interfaith leaders to challenge the overturning of Roe v. Wade on the grounds of religious freedom.
Women of Virtue
Etel, a 9-year-old girl who lives in the Hasidic community in Paris, gets her period for the first time. Myriam, her mother, finally looks at her as if she were a woman. Etel is blessed, until she finds out that in her religion, women are considered impure when they have their period.

2023 marked an inflection point in Israel and Palestine when it comes to issues of democracy, free speech, occupation and hope for a shared future, and filmmakers are responding. SFJFF43 is highlighting the stories of Israelis, Palestinians, and American Jews grappling with their relationship to the Jewish State.
The Body as Battleground: Abortion Access in Post-Roe America
From the outlaw activists ensuring access to the abortion pill, to Jewish champions of the right to choose, SFJFF43 is spotlighting stories of resistance past and present as reproductive rights come under attack nationwide following the overturn of Roe v. Wade. our own, we embraced the possibility that they have something to teach us? These films embody the idea of “multiple truths” by sharing a multiplicity of (sometimes contradictory) ideas and experiences.
