Full Description
Israel's first feature film about the Intifada. Three generations of one Israeli family set out on a day trip to grandson Rami's army graduation, but they never reach their destination. Instead they find themselves lost in the West Bank, locked in a van in the middle of street fights between rock-throwing Palestinian youths and tense Israeli soldiers. Each generation responds to its predicament differently. The grandparents, idealists who came to Israel to build a new society, are concerned about their ambitious son who left Israel to make money in America. The prodigal son is hysterical, trigger-prone, and alienated from his family. The story unfolds in diary form through Rami, who is confused, frustrated, neglected, and ultimately unable to prevent the tragedy that results from this journey. Director Yeshurun crafts a relentless and controversial allegory.
