OY GAY affectionately examines and celebrates gay Jewish life in Britain. Interviewees discuss the cultural and religious imperative to have children and challenge an establishment that is concerned about its diminishing numbers while defining who is a good Jew in increasingly narrow and exclusive terms. Members of a lesbian and gay youth group speak about their place as Jews in the gay community. Rabbis, Reform and Orthodox, reflect on the meaning of the Jewish injunction: "Thou shall not lie with mankind as with womankind." With a special appearance by drag artiste Dave Lynn singing "My Yiddishe Mama."
