Shuli's Fiance

The action of this romantic farce takes place on the eve of the historic May 1977 Israeli election, when Menachem Begin, the head of the right-wing Likud party unseated the Labor Party for the first time ever in the nation's 30-year history. The whole country is waiting for the results. In a small development town, a family waits for their youngest daughter's boyfriend to come and ask for her hand in marriage. Mazal, Shuli's older and recently divorced sister, who moved back to her parents' house with her son, has spent the whole day cooking and cleaning for the guest. Finally, someone appears who claims to be Shuli's beau, but he is suddenly smitten with Mazal. In the end, Mazal must choose between family and love, between passion and reason.
