Zina

In 1930, Leon Trotsky's daughter, Zina Bronstein, was sent to Berlin for psychiatric treatment. Her mental condition, born of a strange relationship with her famous father, has resulted in surreal, apocalyptic visions her therapist calls "comic nightmares." Told through the eyes of her therapist, ZINA allows us a window into Bronstein's mythic and sexual fantasies, and her hallucinations of fire and flood. Given it is the 1930s, what is insanity and what is prophecy? A stunning visual masterpiece. Featuring Shakespearean actor Ian McKellen as the psychiatrist.
