SFJFF42 FAQ

How Can I Purchase Tickets?

Online at sfjff.org: BROWSE THE FILM GUIDE

In-Person: Tickets are available for purchase at our Festival Box Offices located at each in-person screening venue. Festival Box Offices are open one hour prior to a venue's first show of the day and close fifteen minutes after a venue's last screening starts.

Via email or phone: Email boxoffice@sfjff.org or call the Box Office at 415.621.0568. Tickets, passes, and memberships can be purchased with the Box Office between 11am–5pm, Monday–Friday.

I have a promo/voucher code to use.

  • Navigate to desired screening/program.
  • Click on BUY TICKETS: A pop-up window will appear—within that pop-up window, click on KNOW A PROMOTION CODE?.
  • Enter your promo/discount code and click on SUBMIT.
  • Under SELECT TICKET QUANTITY, a discounted ticket type will appear.
  • Choose the desired quantity next to the applicable discounted ticket type and "Add to Cart." Keep in mind that a ticket quantity maximum may exist associated with your promo/discount code.
  • If you are done selecting program tickets, click on CHECKOUT. If you would like to purchase tickets to additional events/screenings, click outside of the pop-up window to continue browsing the festival program.

  • Log in with your username/email and password. Once you've logged in, a $0.00 "Ticket 10-Package" ticket price will appear.

  • 10-Flix ticket packages can be redeemed online and in-person at a Festival Box Office.

You will receive an order confirmation when you've successfully redeemed your Ticket Package for specific screenings. If you do not see a $0.00 ticket price after logging in, or cannot find a confirmation email for your Ticket Package purchase, please contact the box office at boxoffice@sfjff.org or give us a call at 415.621.0568.

Films at Rush

What does it mean if a show is AT RUSH?

When advance tickets are no longer available, a limited number of rush tickets may be available at the door. Rush tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis depending on how many seats are available after passholders and advance ticket-holders are admitted. Rush tickets are normally sold 10 minutes prior to the screening. Acceptable payment methods are cash, credit card and applicable vouchers.

When should I arrive at the theater for my movie?

Ticket and pass holders must arrive at least 20 minutes prior to showtime to guarantee admission. Ticket or pass holders arriving less than 20 minutes prior to showtime cannot be guaranteed a seat, even with a ticket or a pass. Upon arrival, look for the hold-out lines marked as either Pass Holder or Ticket Holder, join the line, and wait until the theater is ready for seating.

Access at our Venues

For information about accessibility at our festival venues, please contact the Box Office at boxoffice@sfjff.org or 415.621.0568.

The Fine Print

Streaming FAQ

Sometimes! If a Q&A with a filmmaker is available in the JFI Digital Screening Room, it will autoplay after the credits end on the film. Check each film description to note whether a Q&A is available for that particular program. You are able to fast-forward the credits to begin the Q&A early if desired.

Some virtual screenings presented by the Jewish Film Institute are only viewable in certain regions, similar to the restricted access that would be available for in-theater screenings. These geoblocking restrictions are negotiated with representatives from each film, as these JFI showings are often the premiere of their film or a very early showing of the film and are therefore limited before the film’s official release.

All SFJFF42 streaming titles are geoblocked to the San Francisco Bay Area.

The following films are available for streaming during SFJFF42. All SFJFF42 streaming titles are geoblocked to the San Francisco Bay Area. Tickets may be purchased from each film's webpage or watched with an SFJFF42 Streaming Pass.

Once you begin a film, you will have a 72-hour watch window unless otherwise noted to complete your viewing before access is disabled. Please look for any additional viewing restrictions noted on each film's webpage.

A watch window is how long you have to watch a film once you hit ‘PLAY’.

All SFJFF42 films have 72-hour watch windows.

Some virtual screenings presented by the Jewish Film Institute have a capacity limit similar to the amount of tickets that would be available for in-theater screenings.
