Gaby

A true story based on the life of Gaby Brimmer. Gaby is a Mexican Jew whose parents were refugees from Hitler's Europe. She is a bright, beautiful, and passionate girl with severe cerebral palsy. Determined to live life as fully as possible, she learns to communicate, enters school where she excels in her studies, and falls in love. But this is only the beginning of her extraordinary odyssey as she participates in the University of Mexico's student revolts of the sixties, adopts a child, and becomes a well-known poet and writer. (Since the movie was made, Gaby also has become a leading activist in Mexico's disability rights movement.) A totally uplifting and empowering story, with an incredible cast, including Rachel Levin, Norma Alejandro, and Liv UlIman.
