Friends and relatives join together to celebrate a Bay Area lesbian couple's Jewish baby-naming ceremony demonstrating how the most ancient of institutions - the family and Judaism- can adapt to a contemporary life. A joyous celebration of both tradition and change.

Alexandra Juhasz has produced over fifteen works on womens' issues from AIDS to teen pregnancy including the documentary feature WOMEN OF VISION: 18 HISTORIES IN FEMINIST FILM AND VIDEO (1998, Cinema Guild); the feature film, THE WATERMELON WOMAN (1996, First Run Festures); and the narrative film short, BAD BOSSES GO TO HELL (1997). The videos, RELEASED: 5 SHORT VIDEOS ABOUT WOMEN AND PRISON (2000) and NAMING PRAIRIE (2001), are currently in festivals. Juhasz is completing the feature documentary, DEAR GABE. This loving letter to her young son follows, with more intimacy and depth, the six female friends introduced in the short NAMING PRAIRIE.
