Full Description
Widely acclaimed Israeli filmmaker, Dani Wachsman is no stranger to San Francisco, having had two seminal works, HAMSIN (1984) and THE APPOINTED (1991), in past festivals. This time Wachsman switches genres, directing a unique drama in a documentary style. The story begins with a mysterious death near his northern Israeli home in the Galilee. Purportedly a suicide, many wonder whether it was murder. The prime suspects are all descendants of an ancient Pashor family. As the legend goes, the Pashors were one of the leading high-priesthood dynasties that guarded over the Second Temple's treasury before it was plundered by Rome's King Titus. Through revealing interviews a conspiracy is uncovered in which the descendants dream of ancient treasures and an independent Galilee. 1996 Haifa Film Festival.
