Our Home Is Not Of This World follows the invisible work of a medical examiner’s office in Texas that identifies people who die crossing the border, revealing its profound personal, legal and spiritual significance. Dr. Corinne Stern has been doing this vital work for more than 20 years and is now looking to retire, but the county government can’t seem to find anyone willing to replace her.

Russ Finkelstein - Director / Producer / Editor: Russ was born and raised in San Diego, CA. After graduating from UC Santa Barbara, he lived and worked in South America for more than 8 years, producing documentaries for Al Jazeera English on social and political issues in Argentina and Colombia. He’s since worked as a producer for NBC, CBS, Vice News, Fusion Network and CNN. His 2018 short, ‘'Looking for Love' premiered at the American Documentary Film Festival. His films have received grants from Catapult, the Ford Foundation / JustFilms and Jewish Story Partners. He is a 2026 Filmmaker in Residence at the Jewish Film Institute. He is based in New York, NY.
Manuel F Contreras - Producer / Editor: Manuel was born in Bogota, Colombia. Manuel has directed two feature length documentary films: Boys of Buenaventura (2016) and The Living And The Dead (2021). He is an alumnus of the DocNomads Joint Masters Degree and PhD in Arts from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. While in Budapest he worked for about ten years as university film lecturer and as the programmer of the Budapest International Documentary Film Festival BIDF. Now based in Abu Dhabi, he teaches film at NYU Abu Dhabi.
