Full Description
Johanna Spector, a leading Jewish ethnomusicologist and filmmaker, launched a personal campaign to film vanishing Jewish communities. This film is a comprehensive record of the two thousand year-old history and customs of the Yemenite Jews, whose culture is fast disappearing in Israel, where they now live. Includes rare and beautiful footage of a young bride's henna ceremony, elaborate birth festivities, and a group of men who sing, dance, and smoke the waterpipe.
