Weapons of the Spirit

A superb documentary recounting a "conspiracy of goodness" - how, in one tiny corner of Occupied France, 5000 Jews were sheltered by 5000 Christians - right under the Nazis' noses. Director Sauvage conducts interviews with villagers and peasants, assembles incredible newsreel footage of the Vichy collaboration, and vividly retells the history of this Protestant mountain town that has had a tradition of helping guests in need, two of whom were Sauvage's own parents.
