Festival Information

The 42nd San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, presented by the Jewish Film Institute, runs July 21 – August 7, 2022. 

SFJFF42 takes place in San Francisco, the East Bay, and online.

The full SFJFF42 lineup and schedule will be announced on www.sfjff.org at 10am PST on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. Please note that the inclusion of your film in the Festival is strictly confidential until this date unless specified otherwise through the Programming Team.

Attending the Festival

As an official Festival guest, you will receive a Festival Pass and tickets to your screening(s). 

Your Guest Pass grants you access to the following events and programs:

  • All in-person programs + events
  • All online screenings
  • Opening Night Party (Randall Museum 199 Museum Way, SF, July 21 at 8:45pm)
  • Festival Guest Lounge (Spark Arts, 4229 18th St, SF, July 22–25, 1p–8pm)
  • Access to the Pass Holder hold-out line at all festival in-person screenings

PLEASE NOTE that your pass is non-transferable

Passes are available for pickup at our Festival Box Office located at the Castro Theatre. The Festival Box Office opens one hour prior to the first show of the day and closes 15 minutes after the last show of the day. 

If you need to make alternative arrangements for pass pickup, please contact Claudia Finkle, Guest Services Manager, at guestservices@sfjff.org.

You will receive a voucher code that you can use to redeem complimentary tickets to your film screenings.

Additionally, you will receive a discount code to use for discounts on all Festival programs and screenings.

  • Please plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled screening time.
  • If you are participating in an intro/Q&A, please find a venue manager upon arrival.
  • If you are unable to attend the Festival in person but would like to provide a short video introduction to your film, please click here
  • While not guaranteed, we strive to provide tech checks where possible. Request a tech check here.
  • As attending guests of the Festival, should you desire to participate in your Q&A without a mask, you will be required to submit a negative covid test result 24 hours prior to your program. JFI will provide invited Festival guests with COVID testing.

  • The Jewish Film Institutes is committed to ensuring in-person experiences are as safe as possible for our patrons. We continue to monitor city public health guidelines and recommendations regarding COVID-19.
  • We require proof of "up-to-date" vaccination and a photo ID upon entry. Photo ID is not required for children under the age of 12.
  • Masks must be worn inside all SFJFF42 venues when not eating or drinking. When at a screening, masks may only be removed when actively eating or drinking once seated. Masks must be worn in theater lobbies and restrooms.
  • Masks may be removed by filmmakers and presenters during introductions and Q&As.

Please tag the Festival in your posts to be reposted to our accounts!

If you have a poster for your film and would like to ship it to us in advance, please ensure that it is received by no later than Friday, July 15. Please note that we are unable to return shipped posters.

If you are unable to ship your poster, you may bring it with you to the Festival Guest Lounge (Spark Arts, 4229 18th St, SF, July 22–25, 1p–8pm) upon arrival. You may also make arrangements to pick up your poster from the Guest Lounge. To arrange pickup, please reach out to Claudia Finkle, Guest Services Manager at guestservices@sfjff.org.
