EDDIE KING is a sexy, dark comedy about Israel's dilemma being a Western outpost in the midst of the Arab Middle East. Eddie is an unemployed actor who thinks too much and is totally disconnected from real life. While traveling on a train he is lured into a crazy plot by Maurice, a shady character, and his sultry companion Julia, who plan to blackmail an aging American TV tycoon. For the first time, Eddie finds an authentic side of himself as he plunges into a world of hip, Sephardic gangsters. Filmmaker Gidi Dar portrays a post-modern Israel filled with American pop icons, action films, French comic strips, and fabulous Arabic music.
