SFJFF44 FAQ

How Can I Purchase Tickets?

Online at sfjff.org: BROWSE THE FILM GUIDE

In-Person: Tickets are available for purchase at our Festival Box Offices located at each in-person screening venue. Festival Box Offices are open one hour prior to a venue's first show of the day and close fifteen minutes after a venue's last screening starts.

Via phone: Contact the Box Office at 415.621.0568. Tickets, passes, and memberships can be purchased with the Box Office between 11am–5pm, Monday–Friday.

I have a promo/voucher code to use.

  • Navigate to desired screening/program.
  • Click on BUY TICKETS: A pop-up window will appear—within that pop-up window, click on KNOW A PROMOTION CODE?.
  • Enter your promo/discount code and click on SUBMIT.
  • Under SELECT TICKET QUANTITY, a discounted ticket type will appear.
  • Choose the desired quantity next to the applicable discounted ticket type and "Add to Cart." Keep in mind that a ticket quantity maximum may exist associated with your promo/discount code.
  • If you are done selecting program tickets, click on CHECKOUT. If you would like to purchase tickets to additional events/screenings, click outside of the pop-up window to continue browsing the festival program.

Ticket Delivery

How do I pick up the tickets/passes I purchased?

E-Delivery/Print at Home for online purchases. Tickets will arrive as an attachment to the confirmation email you will receive upon completion of your order. You can either print the ticket attachment or present tickets on your mobile device upon entry.

SFJFF44 will utilize digital passes for ease of entry. Passes purchased online or over the phone will arrive as an attachment to the confirmation email you will receive upon completion of your order. JFI members whose benefits include Festival Passes will be emailed their passes in the weeks leading up to the festival. You can either print the pass attachment or present the pass' QR code on your mobile device upon entry.

How do I access e-tickets or view my order history?

  • E-tickets/Print at Home tickets are sent to you as an attachment to your confirmation email of your purchase. You can either print the ticket attachment or present tickets your mobile device upon entry. If you would like to know your order history or need your e-tickets to be resent, please email boxoffice@sfjff.org.

Can I transfer my tickets to someone else?

Tickets are fully transferable:

  • Tickets in hand can be handed off to another person for use.
  • To give someone else your PRINT AT HOME tickets, forward them the order confirmation email. They may use the tickets attached in PDF form for admission. Tickets will be scanned at the door and flagged for multiple use.

I can't find my confirmation email.
Check your Junk/Spam folder for an email from boxoffice@sfjff.org. If you find it there, please mark as Not Junk and add us to your address book. If you cannot find your confirmation please contact the box office at boxoffice@sfjff.org or give us a call at 415.621.0568.

I purchased a 10-Flix ticket package online. How do I redeem my tickets?

  • Navigate to any applicable screening (all regularly priced screenings as well as Centerpiece Films and the Freedom of Expression Award presentation) and click Buy Tickets.
  • Log in with your username/email and password. Once you've logged in, a $0.00 "Ticket 10-Package" ticket price will appear.
  • Next to the $0.00 option, select the number of tickets you want, click Add to Cart and follow the steps for checkout.
  • 10-Flix ticket packages can be redeemed online and in-person at a Festival Box Office.

You will receive an order confirmation when you've successfully redeemed your Ticket Package for specific screenings. If you do not see a $0.00 ticket price after logging in, or cannot find a confirmation email for your Ticket Package purchase, please contact the box office at boxoffice@sfjff.org or give us a call at 415.621.0568.

Films at Rush

What does it mean if a show is AT RUSH?

When advance tickets are no longer available, a limited number of rush tickets may be available at the door. Rush tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis depending on how many seats are available after passholders and advance ticket-holders are admitted. Rush tickets are normally sold 10 minutes prior to the screening. Acceptable payment methods are cash, credit card, and applicable vouchers.

When should I arrive at the theater for my movie?

Ticket and pass holders must arrive at least 20 minutes prior to showtime. Ticket or pass holders arriving less than 20 minutes prior to showtime, after ticket holders have been admitted and/or the passholder allotment has been reached, cannot be guaranteed a seat. Upon arrival, look for the hold-out lines marked as either Pass Holder or Ticket Holder, join the line, and wait until the theater is ready for seating.
