Julia Elihu is an Iranian-American Writer, Director, and sometimes producer. Through film, she aims to shed light on underrepresented stories that capture life’s candid beauty. In 2018, her independent short film, Yasamin, which is based on her mom’s story if immigration, was a grand jury prize nominee at the AFI Film Festival. Last year, she produced the short documentary Team Meryland, which was a finalist at the Tribeca If/Then pitch competition and was acquired by The New Yorker and PBS’s POV Shorts Program. In 2022, she associate produced the short documentary Long Line of Ladies, which premiered at Sundance and won the jury award at a number of notable festivals including SXSW.
