Balagan

Khaled, a Palestinian whose family has been living in the country for eight generations; Madi, a Jewish woman whose father survived Sobibor destruction camp; and Moni, a religiously observant Iraqi Jew, together founded the Akko Theatre Center. From their personal experiences they have developed a play that challenges the way we think about the Holocaust and contemporary Israeli experience. Celebrated enthusiastically in Israel and also harshly criticized for their irreverence, the theatre troupe is seeking to explode the deadlock around them through powerful, sometimes shocking, performances.
